The town of Middleboro is appropriately named—located in the heart of the South Shore this “big little town” (second largest by land mass in the state) is right in the middle of it all! Easily accessible to several major highways (Routes 495, 95, 24, 44, 18 and 79) it is convenient to Boston (38 miles), Providence (30 miles), Cape Cod (23 miles) and just down the road from Plymouth. Middleboro is a 70-square mile historic industrial town on the Namasket River. Residents enjoy the many parks and conservation areas that encompass over 400 acres of land. Fishing, hiking, swimming and horseback riding are among the favorite activities. Known as the cranberry capital of the world, the town still has a large number of active bogs and is home to Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc.

Lakeville received its name from the chain of broad and beautiful lakes which occupy approximately 4,000 acres of the township. Lakeville was once part of Middleboro; it split from Middleboro and was incorporated on May 13, 1853.  Lakeville contains 36.16 square miles of area. Residents are very proud of the community's continuing beauty, and enjoy using the Long Pond and Clear Pond recreational areas. The woodlands surrounding the town's lakes provide hiking and picnicking opportunities.

While recently enjoying both residential and industrial growth, both towns continue to maintain a lovely small town feeling and remain great places to live, work and raise children. Both towns have an array of eclectic stores and restaurants to visit. Middleboro maintains a quaint historic downtown populated with a variety of unique gift shops, intriguing antiques, inviting restaurants and personal services. This downtown area continues to grow and the residents are looking forward to the completion of the “College Town Project” which promises to add to the downtown’s appeal, making it a great place to shop and learn!
